Gönen'den Marmara'ya: SUYA BAKAN GÖZ

Su, yalnızca bir kaynak değil; ekosistemleri ve insan yaşamını birbirine bağlayan ortak bir yaşam alanıdır. Ancak iklim krizi, kirlilik ve aşırı tüketim, bu kırılgan dengeyi her geçen gün daha da zayıflatır.

22 Mart Dünya Su Günü kapsamında Gönen Sanat Komisyonu tarafından Balıkesir Büyükşehir Belediyesi, Gönen Belediyesi ve Gönen Kent Konseyi işbirliğiyle Ayer Tohum sponsorluğunda hazırlanan bu sergi, Gönen Çayı ve Marmara Denizi üzerinden suyun yerel ve küresel ölçekteki ekolojik ve toplumsal ilişkilerini görünür kılar. Gönen Ovası’ndaki yaşamı şekillendiren bu su döngüsü, doğa ile insan arasındaki hassas bağı yeniden hatırlatır.

37 farklı ülkeden yüzlerce sanatçının katkısıyla oluşturulan eserler, suyun güncel durumuna dikkat çekerken izleyiciyi sorumluluk almaya davet eder. Sergi, suyun korunmadığında azalan; sahip çıkıldığında ise çoğalan ortak bir değer olduğunu vurgular.

Water is not just a resource; it is a shared living space that connects ecosystems and human life. However, the climate crisis, pollution, and overconsumption weaken this fragile balance day by day.

On the occasion of World Water Day on March 22, this exhibition—organized by the Gönen Art Commission in collaboration with Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Gönen Municipality, and the Gönen City Council, and sponsored by Ayer Seeds—makes visible the ecological and social relationships of water at both local and global scales through the Gönen Stream and the Marmara Sea. This water cycle, which shapes life in the Gönen Plain, serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between nature and humanity.

The works, created with the contribution of hundreds of artists from 37 different countries, draw attention to the current state of water while inviting the viewer to take responsibility. The exhibition highlights the decreasing water resources when water is not protected; It emphasizes that it is a shared value that multiplies when cherished.
